Dao De Jing

was written around the 6th century BC by the Taoist sage Lao Zi (or "Old Master"). It was organized into two parts, the Dao Scripture and the De Scripture. The title "Daode Zhen Jing" or "Lao Zi" is a honorific given by posterity.
